WHAT TO DO AT LA FORESTERIA

Tuscany is famous for its delicious food, top-quality wines, and charming towns. With award-winning sommelier Luca as your guide, experience the very best of this enchanting region through unforgettable tastings, rich storytelling, and authentic flavors that will linger long after your journey ends.

A Tuscan Garden Dinner

As the sun sets over the hills, enjoy a relaxed Tuscan dinner at La Foresteria. The focus is on traditional food, a calm atmosphere, and taking time to enjoy the table with your loved ones. During the summer, we set the tables outside, in the garden. In the colder months, it is served in the warmth of our restaurant hall.

The dinner is hosted by Luca, our sommelier. He has spent years working with Tuscan wines and local producers, and he explains things the way a friend would, without technical jargon or speeches. He talks about where the food comes from, why certain dishes are cooked the way they are, and which wine actually makes sense with each course.

The menu follows classic Tuscan recipes: crostini neri to start, ribollita as a first course, and cinghiale with our own apples, cooked following nonna Wanda’s traditional recipe. Dessert is homemade tiramisù.

Vegetarian and special dietary options are available on request.

Available from 19:00 - 21:00 | €45 (drinks excluded)

Wine & Tapas

Spend a relaxed evening discovering Tuscan wines with Luca, our sommelier. This is not a formal tasting or a lesson. You sit, you taste, and Luca explains the wines and food in a simple, clear way, like he would at a dinner with friends.

The experience is built around small Tuscan dishes paired with local wines, chosen to work naturally with the food.

The tasting includes five pairings:

  • Spinach flan with pecorino cream, paired with Canto IGT – Podere Casanova, a fresh and balanced white wine.

  • Assorted Tuscan bruschette (three different toppings), paired with Extrema Ratio – Mariottini, an elegant rosé.

  • Handmade tortello filled with ricotta, served with traditional Tuscan meat ragù, paired with Rosso di Montalcino – Castello di Tricerchi.

  • Slow-cooked wild boar stew, paired with Grattacapo – Azienda Agricola Nonno Simone.

  • Cantucci with vanilla gelato, paired with Vin Santo Maestà del Bagno.

By the end of the evening, you will have tasted a selection of local wines and understood how they are normally enjoyed with food in Tuscany.

Available from 19:00 - 21:00 | €60

Wine Tasting Experience

Organize your own personal wine tasting at La Foresteria, to be enjoyed in the garden at sunset or indoors, depending on the season.

The tasting is hosted by Luca, our sommelier. You will taste four Tuscan wines, each served with a board of local cheeses and cured meats:

  • Il Patriota Metodo Classico – Cantina Fregnan, a fresh sparkling wine to start.

  • Veneris Bianco – Podere Colle Primo, a light and aromatic white wine.

  • Strada 69 IGT – Azienda Agricola Mariottini, a smooth red blend based on Sangiovese.

  • Vin Santo del Chianti – Maestà del Bagno, Tuscany’s traditional dessert wine.

A relaxed way to understand local wines and enjoy good company surrounded by the Tuscan countryside.

Meet Luca

Luca is the person behind all our food and wine experiences. His relationship with wine started early, helping his grandfather make wine at home and spending time in vineyards and cellars long before it became a profession.

He studied hospitality at the Istituto Alberghiero and later specialized in wine, becoming a certified sommelier in 2011. Over the years, his work and knowledge were formally recognized, including Best Sommelier of Tuscany (AIS) in 2013 and Third Best Sommelier of Italy (AIS) in 2014.

What matters most, though, is how Luca shares what he knows. He explains wine in a clear, practical way, without technical language or unnecessary formality. Whether during a tasting, a dinner, or a pairing experience, he focuses on helping people understand what they are drinking, where it comes from, and why it works with the food.

With Luca, wine is not about labels or rules. It is about enjoying the table, understanding the land, and drinking well.
